So Dec of 2019 our little beagle Sophia got away from us and was out in the lake wildness area for 2 days. We got her back;

But we decided she and our older beagles needs safe place to play.

So that we didn't worry, but they could enjoy the outdoors as we do.

So the design was layed out in a spot that would give both shade and sun for our beagles.

Supplies- we went with the following:

4x4 treated post 18 of them-we bought 16 foots to help with cost

we had already had 5x3 panels of wired fencing panels( we have see them at tractor supply stores.)

and 2x4's - we used 12 foots to frame out bottom and tops then 6 ft to do the sides.

Since our ground table is clay like-we do not use concrete, but you could if you wanted to.

Our play yard grew as we got building and adjusted. 32x 40 ish..

But the panels we created were the size of the wire panels. We cut grooves in the 2x4 boards to create a place to fit the wire into the wood.

We adjusted for roots in our forest yard and such.

We gave ourselves a panel width and long for access to the play areas. As to allow for easier access to the dogs, specially to Sophia.

For the gate, we made a panel and attached with hinges and locking system.

This is the front view for the dogs to look at, we also made it so we can see them.

So this last panel had to be cut shorter due to adjustments so that is all would be enclosed.

All lumber is treated, so we have not stained or colored the fencing. We allowed for run off of the water (we are on the lake) as well; there are natural bugs that clean up for our dogs messes. So we only really have to clean up a little.

The grass grows in different areas/ so we will be placing down dog grass/fake grass this winter. but waited to allow for settling and to how much the grass would fill in/it has not since 2019.

Will that's this project-hope you enjoyed. If you have questions-please ask; I always do.
